Sale Policies

By contacting us, placing a deposit and purchasing a rabbit you have agreed to the following terms. Our policies may be changed at any time at our discretion and without notice. There is no other guarantees, express or implied.

AVAILABILITY

We are a CLOSED RABBITRY. This means we do now allow visitors in our rabbit barn. This is a biosecurity necessity for safety and health of our rabbits. We will meet buyers at an agreed on public location.

Kits may not leave our rabbitry until a minimum of eight weeks old. No exceptions. We reserve the right to hold back kits for any length of time.

Because our primary goal is to breed to improve our own herd (we strive to breed to the Standard of Perfection), we often hold back kits until they are older to better evaluate them for our own breeding program or even start them on the show table. Please inquire with us here or at a show if you are interested in a rabbit, even if you don't see a specific rabbit on our Available Rabbits page

We reserve the right to change our mind about the availability of any given rabbit at any time.


PRICING & PAYMENT

Pricing is based on our determination of quality, pedigree availability and other considerations. Pet pricing is for pet quality (kits with faults or disqualifications that would prevent them from showing) - they do not come with pedigrees.

We do offer discounted prices for active ARBA youth and/or 4-H youth. We are always glad to give back to the fancy that helped our youth get started! We DO require that any and all sales to youth have a parent or guardian involved in the purchase.

We do not "hold" rabbits without a deposit.  Deposits are forfeited by buyer if they change their mind, no show, or otherwise fail to follow through. We refund deposits in cases where we are not able to provide the agreed upon rabbit and the buyer does not want a replacement. 

Rabbits may not leave our rabbitry until paid in full. 


PICKING UP YOUR RABBIT

We are very glad to meet at a show we are entered at or in an agreed on public place within a set radius of our rabbitry. We do not charge a transportation fee for this.

We encourage buyers to meet us to pick up their new rabbit - this allows you to examine them thoroughly yourself, verify buck vs doe, and ask us any questions you may have. Please bring a safe travel carrier for your rabbit.

We know in person pickup is not always possible so we are glad to work with reputable transports or other breeders willing to help transport. Transport is at buyer's expense, you must make arrangements and payment directly with transporter. Transporter must be able to pick up within a reasonable radius of us or meet us at a show we are entered at. We examine the rabbit with the transporter at time of pickup to verify no illness or injury, and to verify tattoo number and sex. Once a rabbit leaves our possession and is in the care, custody and control of the transporter we are no longer responsible for that rabbit (including health, condition or death). We reserve the right to refuse any transporter for any reason.


GUARANTEES

We do not provide health guarantees after a rabbit has left our barn. We will NEVER  sell a rabbit that we know has been exposed to a communicable disease or that has shown symptoms of illness. When a rabbit leaves us, it is healthy to the very best of our knowledge and we actively encourage you to thoroughly examine your new rabbit upon pickup. We will not be responsible for replacing or refunding (except at our own discretion), vet bills or other damages.

We do not guarantee show, fiber or breeding success. If we sell a pedigreed rabbit, we feel - in our opinion- this rabbit is potentially suitable for show (if sold as such) or breeding. You are buying potential, not guaranteed wins or future litters. It is the buyer's responsibility to know what they are looking for. We will gladly provide additional photos and video.


GENERAL

We do not offer or allow 'stud service' to outside does.

Any rabbit sold with a tattoo/pedigree MUST retain both the tattoo AND the name on the pedigree. If you are purchasing a young rabbit with only a tattoo number, we encourage you to name it prior leaving so we can update the pedigree with your chosen name. ALL rabbits bred by us MUST retain the Toe River's prefix in their name. 

Any rabbit may be returned to us at any time. We know things happen and we don't judge if you can no longer keep it. We will retain or re-home it as best for the rabbit. Unless otherwise stated, we do not offer a refund of purchase price. Please do not release it into the wild (this is cruel) or dump it at a shelter.

All rabbits go home with a starter/sample bag of feed and hay to help the transition to their new home. The will also go with a pedigree (if included) and information sheet.

We are always here as support. We LOVE hearing how a Toe River rabbit is doing, and are glad to answer questions and help if we can with any concerns. (Please direct immediate or emergency health questions to a vet - we are not veterinarians and an ill rabbit is almost always time critical when it comes to care.)
